Dr. Cheema
Dr. S. Cheema

Chief Medical Director

From a young age, Dr. Cheema has had a deep affinity for animals. Growing up, he had a large veterinary influence in his life from his family, which consists of 11 other veterinarians. Family is extremely important to Dr. Cheema, and he considers the patients he treats as one of his own- so don’t be surprised if you get a call from him on a holiday or over the weekend to discuss the well-being of your furbabies.

Dr. Cheema received his DVM from Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana, India, before completing his Internship at Iowa State University in 2001. Since then, he has been dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care to cats and dogs across southern California. He has a special interest in Veterinary dentistry and ultrasonography. Outside of general small animal care, he also attained a certification in veterinary acupuncture from Chi Institute, FL.

In his spare time, Dr. Cheema loves subjecting his two teenage daughters to extensive veterinary surgery videos and Bollywood films. He hopes that one day they will also follow in his footsteps and become veterinarians themselves. You may see them wandering through the hospital assisting him over their school breaks! His hobbies further include attending veterinary seminars all over the U.S., playing with his two dogs, Zoomie and Millie, and annoying the heck out of his beloved wife, Raman, who is the vision behind this clinic.

In the clinic, he aims to create a welcoming and humorous environment so staff and clients can be at ease despite their worries. He loves to crack jokes and possesses a special skill of being easy to talk to.When he’s not at work, he’s either snowboarding or spending quality time with his wife and kids.
